All right, I am a bit on a hiatus here. Don’t mean to. It is just that I am super busy launching the Chinese version of Fearless on VOGUE China. It’s a bit daunting, exciting and different, that plus my other day jobs as a consultant, I am too busy!

Not helping one bit was the pollution that made an unexpected comeback in Beijing forcing all back into our houses. I did go out a bit though, and made it last week to the Paul Smith ‘event’ in Beijing.

If most brands tend to launch or re-launch in China with a bang, Paul Smith, characteristically went into the world gently, gentlemanly should I say. A bit of a non-descript shop in Sanlitun, trays of bubbly, it-looking people, a famous actor (not by me, but I was told), and Sir Paul himself posing with one and all upstairs clearly bored out of his mind. I do regret the nooks and crannies of the Convent garden shop, but i guess charm is not easily exported.

All and all, I can’t wait for June 18th. I am on the list. I think. I hope. I can’t wait. More details later.

Oh and one charming very talented french blogger, specialist of menswear, absolutely delightful asked me a few pertinent questions about fashion in China. Of course, I could not miss an opportunity to give my opinion (when I am paid, the same thing is called my advice.)

And of course, I bumped into Shasha. Of course she was the coolest girl that night. I think i have found THE cutest, most stylish girl in the city. Hey… If you are involved in the June 18th Thing in Beijing, please invite her! She will dazzle!

Je rame un peu en ce moment. Pas forcément prévu mais je rame un peu. Probablement parce que je viens de lancer la version en chinois de mon blog sur VOGUE China *je suis pas peu fière- et donc entre l’adaptation en chinois et mes obligations de consultante, cela devient un peu compliqué: Weibo, Facebook, Vogue, Le Monde et Fearless. Comme en plus, la pollution vient de faire un grand retour sur la ville, renvoyant tout le monde dans ses pénates, combinée à des pluies torrentielles (rarissimes dans cette ville ultra sèche). Je suis un peu à la rue. Mais… J’ai quand même eu le temps de passer à la fête de Paul Smith la semaine dernière.

Si la majorité des marques qui se lancent ou se relancent sur le marché chinois le font avec un grand bang! Paul Smith, lui, a préféré une méthode plus old school. Avec champagne et petits fours et une foule de plus ou moins beautiful people entassés dans une boutique un peu banale de Sanlitun Nord. Malheureusement, on peut déplorer que le charme de son antre de Convent Garden restera à Londres. Par contre, il se prépare à Pékin LA fête de l’été et je pense/crois/espère/prie que je suis sur la liste…

Et of course pour conclure, la plus Belle de toute. Je soupçonne que Shasha Han est la fille la plus stylée de la ville *sans blog. (Les bloggeuses qui se font payer pour porter des trucs ne comptent pas. )

Qu’en pensez-vous? Magnifique non? En plus elle est gentille, avec une toute petite voix et un rire facile. Je suis sous le charme. SI, vous travaillez pour LA fête du 18 juin…. Je lance un appel: Mettez-la sur la liste! Merci.

Une autre petite nouvelle sympa, je me suis fait ‘interviewer’ par un jeune bloggeur français charmant, spécialiste du marché masculin qui était curieux sur la Chine. Ses questions étaient pertinentes, et je me suis beaucoup amusée à lui donner mon opinion (mes avis sont payants, je suis consultante! he he he). Son blog Tie and I est très bien écrit et il était très pro. C’est ensuite en lisant un peu plus son blog que j’ai appris qu’il a 17 ans.

« Aux âmes bien nées… » Corneille savait de quoi il parlait. Encore merci Edouard.
