The color palette of an authentic Beijing beauty in her atelier.
And amongst all these authentic Beijingers I recently photographed I spotted one perfectly lovely yet utterly faux Belle du Jour. So full of colors in the grey city, so perfectly covered in the latest fakes yet so charming, I had to ask for her picture.
Colors, colors everywhere… from a dubious Spring 2014 Chanel top to the PVC Kelly.
She was pleased as punch that I asked her to pose, but prefered the ‘detached’ attitude that conveyed « I am not seeing you although you are feet away from me’. She was quite stylish though.
Lovely as she was, there was something unsettling about the ‘perfection’ of her face. Pointy chin, big eyes, cheekbones and all. The Chinese are more and more turning to plastic surgery to change their faces. No one is fooled, but that is not the goal.
Her feet were very fun, although she had to be in pain in those « Roy » Louboutin.
Amazing shoes but a bit ‘unpractical’ for an afternoon stroll.
I will explore the plastic surgery emergence in China this summer but wanted to share this Belle du Jour right away.
I am increasingly seeing more and more ‘artificial’ belles… Their faces oddly similar.
