If I am always on the lookout for the prettiest and most interesting girls around, that does not mean that I am not interested in the boys as well.  In Beijing, the streets, the stores, the whole fashion world is definitely a 50/50 affair between men and women. It is interesting actually to see that all the best stores have a man section almost as big if not bigger than the women. Menswear is BIG business in China and not just with the « Murses ». My eyes are always searching the streets just in case I find someone, anyone of interest. And so Saturday I got lucky with my first « Bel du Jour ». A boy.

A very pretty boy, well dressed, charming and smiling. Shy but flamboyant. I loved the Kelly open just so, the Burberry military jacket, and the navy blue hair, sadly the picture did not show that beautiful color. I just loved his style. It was freezing that day, so the cropped trouser was definitely a statement.

When I kneeled down to photograph his shoes « Louis Vuitton » he murmured. How appropriate.

Si je suis constamment à la recherche de mes chères Belles du Jour, je ne suis pas sectaire, et surtout la mode en Chine c’est presque à 50% une affaire masculine. Dans les boutiques les plus intéressantes l’univers Masculin est au moins égal sinon supérieur à celui de la mode Féminine, c’est trés unique à la Chine je pense. Peut-être apres cet univers unisexe de la révolution culturelle les hommes et les femmes sont également intéressés par l’expression individuelle que la mode apporte.

Je ne veut pas entrer tout de suite dans les détails mais je vois bien que c’est une affaire également importante pour tous ici. Alors, je peut être intriguée par une dégaine ou une allure intéressante sur un garçon. C’est ainsi que samedi dernier j’ai croisé ce jeune homme. Il était charmant, à la fois timide et flamboyant; et il est dommage que mes photos ne rendent pas la couleur bleu marine profonde qu’il avait dans les cheveux. J’ai aimé le Kelly noir, plus nouveau presque que le Birkin omniprésent à Pékin, et lorsque je me suis agenouillée pour photographier ses chaussures, il m’a murmuré « Louis Vuitton »….

Si il savait.
