ARRR! ARRR! No Mercy!

Sometimes a fashion trend is bouncing from your home to the streets… This one is winking at me from my kids costume bin, where – to be precise – my little boy has long accumulated so much pirates gear, I could kit out an entire crew of blood-thirsty miniature Pirates without skipping a beat.

And so this summer, in the streets of Beijing, The Pirates of Beijing. Quite remote from the Caribbeans, from every street corner, worn on t.shirts, jewels, shoes, leggings, the Skulls and Bones of dreaded memories…Jack Rackham, Edward Teach « Black Beard » or Henry Morgan, Pirates have invaded the city.

Their appeal is quite universal I know, but this summer it goes deeper than the red or black pavillions, it’s on everybody! Yes I know, some are simply a tone-down version of Alexander McQueen, others go towards the Hell’s Angels via Jack Sparrow. I have had quite some fun capturing the best ones. Parfois une tendance dominante à Pékin semble surgir du panier à déguisements de mes enfants.

Depuis quelques semaines il me semblait apercevoir les pavillons sanglants de Jack Rackam, Barbe Noire ou Henry Morgan tous les mêtres…. Une vraie invasion, et si loin des côtes des Caraibbes! Alexander McQueen et Jack Sparrow, avec une pointe de Hell’s Angels. Les petites pirates se multiplient et touchent toute la population! Je trouve cette mode plutôt drôle… Envoyez-moi des photos si vous en avez aussi….

Probablement le sac en skaï le plus laid de Pékin, notez le crâne en vadrouille… Probably the ugliest fake bag in all of Beijing..but the t.shirt had the skull….

Les couples en Chine aiment souvent assortir leurs tenues. Elle portait une petite broche parfaite avec son t.shirt à lui (et la ceinture Chrome Hearts).
