Badaboum, Badabim…. Went shopping for girl scout trousers at The Gap yesterday afternoon. Kept my eyes open for new stores to write about. Spotted the garish floral arrangement that signals a party is brewing in Beijing. It had to be a French party from the multiple pictures of Gay Pareee and the Eiffel tower images on the wall. I was in Park View Green the « soon-to-be-opened-biggest-luxuriest-latest-can’tmiss-OMG! » mall. So I introduced myself. Yes, it was indeed a store opening for a luxury (call me shocked) brand of accessories – quite beautiful actually. I was now invited. So I went home, gathered a friend and returned later on. Then we met another friend* who slipped us THE carton to have that night. So cool I had no idea it was even going on. Mmm.
« So much fun! » assured our friend*…. « You must come. »
– Indeed. We promptly headed back home, changed quicker than Houdini and soon were off heading into the freezing night to Sanlitun Village.
She was right.
What fun!
The scarves on the ceiling were just beautiful. It was amazing! (and I am not a gusher)
Turns out I was probably NOT supposed to take so many pictures. 268 images later a very polite guard asked me to pack my camera, I did. (I mean, I am not greedy and I had so much fun!)
*notice how I am cleverly preserving her identity. Party source will always be protected. Keep that in mind if you are in Beijing and want to invite me… 😉 Or simply tell me where and when. I’ll manage the rest.
- I was so pleased to see an outfit by EVENING! (you looked great!)
I even got quite a few Belle du Jour. I think she is my favorite though.
I have taken many pictures of this amazing Fearless girl. Not once did she did not look this amazing!
On a bien rigolé.
Merci
Vraiment. Merci.
I think the lovely sitting guy below was these three’s Belles boyfriend. I think. He probably gets a group discount at Chanel as they all three sported practically the same bag.
The decal tattoo parlor was a blast. Les décalcomanis Hermès etaient tres drôles aussi!
Finally my son finally has a pirate tattoo I can approve of!
The last Belle du Jour! Allez, La dernière Belle du Jour
just kidding! je galège.
Allez, cette fois c’est vraiment fini.
What fun!
Thank you Hermès!
Gabrielle
Hopefully, this was not a PRE-launch party and now you’ve blown it with showing the goods before time!
No, I have checked since. It’s a PARTY that Hermes is doing all over the world! So cool! I wish I have saved a Chinese poster for it though! (or could have stolen a cube, they were soooo cooool!) They have had Swinging Silks! in Sydney, Toronto, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo. So I think they will continue world wide and it is a very clever way for them to ‘dust up’ the image of the scarves and reach the young elite of a city. So clever because it was brilliant fun and in Europe, the scarves are either for the super hip, that wear them ironically, or a rare elegant woman like my daughter’s Godmother Mitsouko*, or it is for my mother (73 and counting then… NOT their target audience!).
Keep your eyes open in case they go to NY….
